Telephone EMI

  • Introduction-

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the shack, Ed Hare, W1RFI, ARRL Laboratory Supervisor, is at it again! This time his topic is telephone interference -- the bane of every amateur who has to go QRT whenever a telephone rings!

The cures for telephone interference are usually fairly easy to understand and implement, but there are often other issues that need to be addressed. Technical issues are really the second half of an interference problem. First and foremost you must deal with personal and political matters. The February and March 1992 QST Lab Notes columns discussed the non-technical side of interference. Read these columns again to refresh your memory.
