Log Submission

Find out how and when you should submit your official contest entries.

  • Instructions

Click a method of submission to expand.

  • Electronic Submissions via email for Straight Key Night, only

Files in the required format may be e-mailed directly to the contest email addresses for Straight Key Night, only!

Submit your log as a file attachment to your email.  DO NOT ZIP YOUR FILES.

  • Submissions Online via Web App

To use our web app to submit your Cabrillo format log, go to http://contest-log-submission.arrl.org/  To read the November 2016 QST Article by H. Ward Silver, NØAX, describing this new tool Go Here

Note that some events like ARRL 10 GHz and Up and EME have a unique web app URL - see event rules for additional web app details on these events.

If your logging program does not output the required Cabrillo format or if you log by hand, you may enter your data via  http://www.b4h.net/cabforms/ and select the event of interest. You can input your log data which will be converted to a Cabrillo formatted log for you (it will generate a log and return it to you), and then you can in turn submit your Cabrillo log via email or web app.

These applets allow you to input all of the required information for each contest -- both summary sheet information and individual QSO information. Once the data entry is finished, the applet will then submit the entry and supply you with a confirmation. It will also send an e-mail copy to you for your records. Web applet submissions must be completed no later than the published log deadline of the contest.

  • Confirmation of Logs Received by Contest

The Logs Received page lists all received electronic submissions by contest. These lists are automatically updated several times during the day. It is not "instantaneous" so it may be several hours before the list is next updated.

If you submitted your entry electronically and do not find your log listed, first please check to see that you received back a numbered confirmation/receipt from the web app (these appear in real time on the submission page, and via email to the address you indicated wiith your submission [check you junk-mail/spam if you did not receive an email]). If you have a numbered receipt and your log does not appear within several hours, please contact contests@arrl.org with your confirmation/receipt number and they will look into the matter during regular ARRL business hours.

Paper logs are not added to this electronic list, but will appear in the final results.

  • Paper Submissions

While we strongly encourage you to convert paper logs electronically using the web applet, we still accept hand written paper logs. A paper printout of an electronically produced log is not acceptable. A paper submission must use an up-to-date summary sheet.

Please do not use old forms. Only the most current summary sheet will contain the information about the latest multipliers, categories and other changes. Please either type or write the information legibly.

Paper logs of 200 QSOs or more must include a dupe sheet -- an alphanumeric list of stations (call signs) worked, separated by band.

For some ARRL Contests, handwritten logs will be converted to electronic Cabrillo format by data entry volunteers. We are not responsible for errors in your transcribed log due to illegible handwriting or missing information.

Paper entries may be mailed to:

    ARRL Contest Branch
    225 Main St
    Newington, CT 06111

Paper logs must be postmarked by the deadline date published for each eventt.
