Why do so many couples choose Georgia as a wedding destination? I've been to weddings all over the world - from a beach ceremony in Bali to a vineyard in Tuscany - but Georgia keeps coming up in conversations as a magical place to tie the knot. A friend of mine, who is not even Georgian, got married in Tbilisi and couldn't stop talking about the charm of the old town, the breathtaking mountains and the incredible food.
I wonder if people are just drawn to the scenery or if there's something deeper?

When I started planning my wedding, I wanted something memorable but intimate. A friend suggested Georgia. We had never been there and didn’t know much about it.

We chose a venue in Tbilisi – a historic building with stunning architecture and views of the old town. The planning process for wedding georgia was organized with the help of wedding agency https://shuwedd.com/ which we found through a Georgian recommendation site. The team handled everything from finding a venue to organizing traditional music and a mouth-watering menu with local dishes like lobio, badrijani and of course, lots of khachapuri.

One of the most memorable moments was the supra. The toastmaster gave heartfelt toasts that brought the guests together from different cultures – it was like a bridge connecting everyone. And the entertainment! Traditional dancers performed alongside a DJ who played our favorite modern tracks, making the party both authentic and personal.

I completely agree with the unique combination that Georgia offers. My cousin’s wedding in Kazbegi was like stepping into a fairy tale. The mountains created this incredible backdrop, and the ceremony was simple yet deeply touching. But I think the best thing is how the locals treat weddings as personal events for the entire community. Everyone, from the venue staff to the musicians, were genuinely interested in making them special. I also noticed how affordable they were compared to similar weddings in France or Italy. And the food? A dream come true! I still remember the khinkali and the endless variety of appetizers. If your cousin wants something unique but welcoming, Georgia is the place to go. It’s not just a wedding – it’s an experience guests will talk about for years.

It's funny you ask about Georgia because I was a bridesmaid at my sister's wedding in Batumi last spring. Honestly, I don't think it's just the scenery, although the scenery is out of this world. What struck me was the combination of tradition and modernity. My sister had a grand reception with Georgian dancers and a supra-feast, topped off with toasts from the toastmaster (host). But at the same time, she found this chic, modern venue overlooking the Black Sea. Everything was so warm and authentic. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the wine! The local qvevri wines were a hit with all the guests, especially those from abroad. I would say the magic of Georgia is its ability to make everyone feel like family, even if it’s your first time there.
