The Society of Midwest Contesters formed early in 1985 with the goal of uniting Midwest contesters into a competitive group and to further the idea of radiosporting in the Midwest. From 51 charter members in the summer of 1985, we’ve steadily grown to a membership of over 200 contesters, mainly in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

We are active on HF and VHF...plus all modes such as cw, phone and digital.

We orgainize the SMC Fest in late August to host our members. Our members present contest seminars and communicate about good ideas to be a better contester. 

We also have been doing a day long track of Contest University at the W9DXCC each September. Our members lead classes to help get you started in contesting.
