Repeaters are as follows: 145.2100(-), 146.9700(-), 147.3300(+), 224.9600(-), 444.11250(+), 444.3000(+), 442.6500(+). Repeaters are tone access 118.8 and open for general use except during emergencies.
The club maintains an Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Center at the Butler Technology and Career Center that features two 200W 10-160 meter transceivers with both voice and digital communications capabilities and 50-144-220 and 440 transcievers including FUSION, DSTAR, Airmail, PACKET, WINLINK, FLDIGI, and other sound card modes of operation at four operator positions.
The Butler-Warren Weather Net is operated from the ARECC which has gigabite internet access that allows monitoring of NEXRAD radar live, viewing traffic and city cameras, real time weather feeds from various service providers, access to agencies WEBEOC's for real time exchange of information, and a 800 MHz link to both the Warren County and Butler County 911 center's and the EMA EOC's.
The BCAREC group participates with the Butler County EMA supporting their annual drills and exersizes maintaining contact with the State of Ohio EMA EOC in Columbus OH, and the Regional Operations Center (ROC) in Hamilton County, Cincinnati, OH via several radio networks and modes of operation.
As a Public Service, we provide coordination for both club and non-club affiliated amateur radio operators at noon time on the first Wednesday of each month to assist the 911 center with monitoring over 80 severe weather sirens to assure they work properly. At the onset of this project 2014, about 20% of the sirens monitored worked on a regular basis. Now only about 10% or less malfunction monthly, mostly releated to power surges or lightning strikes.
