Youth DX Adventure Team Headed to Saba in August
The 2016 Dave Kalter Memorial Youth DX Adventure (YDXA) team is heading to Saba to the Caribbean station of Jeff Jolie, PJ6/NM1Y, who will host three teenaged Amateur Radio operators and their chaperones.
This year’s youth team includes Morgan Croucher, KD8ZLK; Ruth Willet, KM4LAO, and Faith Hannah Lea, AE4FH. Escorting them will be Joe Binkley, KD8YPY; Sharon Willet, KM4TVU, and James Lea, WX4TV. The budding DXers/DXpeditioners will be on the air from Saba August 2-9.
Dave Kalter was KB8OCP, a member of the TI5N contest team and a founder of the YDXA. He served as a vice president of the Southwest Ohio DX Association (SWODXA) and was an active member of the Dayton Amateur Radio Association, which sponsors DARA. He died in 2013.
