New ham here. Just getting ready to set up my first shack and I hoping to get some advice. I picked up a Cobra UltraLite Senior as my first antenna, but I am unclear about whether or not this antenna requires RF Grounding for proper installation. This is a multi-band antenna for use on 160 - 10 Meters. Feedback from someone who has experience with this antenna would be a big help. |

This type of antenna, like most dipole designs, does not require grounding per se, but it does matter what the height above ground will be. Try to install the antenna at least one-half wavelength [of the frequency you'll be working] above the ground for best performance and low SWR. |

K4DUB Thank you for the reply. The antenna is hung. Its up about 60 ft between two tall pine trees. Working well. |
