To all who experienced my QRM around 0125z on 14.040 mHz this evening: I apologize for my stupid mistake. I forgot to turn off SPLIT when I moved down the band to work simplex. Sorry for the trouble I caused. I doubt I will ever make that mistake again. I am profoundly embarrassed. I've been a ham over 50 years and can only remember one time when I made such an egregious error. My interference was not intentional - just stupid. Please accept my apology. 73, Dan K5FXB |

Dan, You aren't the first, I'm sure. (Won't name any names.) But your posting raises an interesting issue: How to communicate with "all hams"? There's no good way. I don't have the stats for this site, but in percentage terms I doubt a posting here will reach too many of our brethren! You could take out ads in QST and CQ or post in all the ham groups you could find. And then, once you did that, people would start complaining about your abuse of Internet bandwidth! :-) 73 Martin AA6E |
