I am looking into doing Satelite for. The first time. Right now I. Just have a duel band HT. I read that you can use an HT for Satellite. Are two radios and a diplexer necessary if your using a duel band ht that monitors two channels at the same time? |

https://www.work-sat.com/my_gear.html "It is preferable to work the FM sats in full-duplex mode (where you can hear the downlink as you key your mic). But only one recently manufactured HT did that well in V/U and U/V modes: the Kenwood TH-D72a (discontinued 4Q 2020)" In practice most dual band radios desense too much on receive so it is often more practical to use two radios if you are on a budget.
