Hello All, At times, I hear stations using their call sign suffix to check into directed Nets. Are their any rules concerning this practice? Thanks and 73 Wassim WN6WJN |

They can use the suffix to initiate the communication so long as the entire callsign is transmitted within ten minutes of doing so. 97.119 covers this. Paragraph a states that identification must be given at the end of each communications and at least every ten minutes during a communication. There is no regulatory requirement to identify at the beginning of a series of transmissions during a communication. 73, Nate N0NB.us |
